Professional certifications
On this page you will find a list of all the courses, in the English language, corresponding to professional qualifications, that is, those which allow you to work with students. Each of the blocks that you will see below contains a brief description of the course or certification. If there is documentation for the online distribution of any of these courses, it is accessed by clicking on the title of the course or on the image. In order to access each course you need to have a username and password that your instructor or ACUC must have provided you.
Access to these courses is limited to those who have contacted us to obtain the certification. When you click on the corresponding course, an access page appears in which you have to enter your username and password. Once entered and validated, you can go to all available documents.
Divemaster
This course prepares you to act as a Dive Controler, to lead certified divers in open water dives, to assist in the training of new divers and to teach some non certification ACUC Scuba courses such as Introduction to Diving (Discovery Diving) and more.
It is the mandatory first step to become an Instructor. Minimum age is 18 years old.
Entry Level Instructor
This is an optional certification by which you will be able to:
- Certify Scuba Divers
- Certify Open Water Divers
It is a course recommended for those that wish a slower progression to the Open Water Instructor level.
Minimum age is 19 years old.
Open Water Instructor
As an Open Water Instructor you will be able to do what the Entry Level Instructor does (see above), and you will be able to also certify Advanced Divers, Rescue Divers, Divemasters and any specialty for which you hold the corresponding Specialty Instructor rating.
This course WILL NOT teach you about diving. As an ACUC Divemaster you must already have all the necessary knowledge and skills. This course will teach you how to teach others about diving. Minimum age is 19 years old.
Advanced Instructor
As an Advanced Instructor you will be able to do what the Open Water Instructor does and you may also teach, but not certify, the Entry Level Instructor level.
To obtain this rating, you must be a First Aid Instructor and an Emergency Oxygen Instructor (from any ACUC recognised agency). Minimum age is 20 years old.
