Information on ACUC professional courses

If you are reading this section it is perhaps because you are interested in turning your hobby into a job. Why not make a living doing something you really like? Isn’t that what everyone wishes to do?

If you would like to earn a living, either full time or part time, supervising divers or training others to become divers, ACUC offers you the perfect training and the opportunity to become an excellent professional, as a Divemaster or Recreational Diving Instructor.

THE ACUC DIVEMASTER COURSE

You must have Diving Emergency Responder (DER) and Oxygen Emergency Responder (O2ER) certifications, or obtain them during the Divemaster course.

The main characteristics of this certification are that students who successfully complete the course will be able to:

  1. Act as Surface Controller (Dive Controller)
  2. Direct and supervise already certified divers in dives
  3. As a Dive Guide, assist in the training of new divers under the supervision of an ACUC Instructor
  4. Teach some diving courses in which certification is not obtained and also,
  5. Teach, evaluate and certify some “dry” specialties (specialties where there is no water training involved), provided you obtain the corresponding Specialty Instructor certification for said specialties.

You can see the ACUC standards, the course content and the requirements for this course in this PDF document
