Below you will find a brief description of ACUC courses to start diving

ACUC offers two different initial courses with certification. You have the option to start with:
1. The Scuba Diver course
2. The Open Water Diver course
THE SCUBA DIVER COURSE
This optional course is designed for those who wish to dive shallow and always under the direct supervision of an ACUC Divemaster or higher level, or similar from other recognized organizations. It is recommended for young divers (minimum age 12 years) or for older people (no maximum age).
This title has certain limitations, such as the maximum depth, which is 15 meters / 50 feet (12 meters maximum during the course) and as we mentioned before, “ACUC Scuba Divers” must always be accompanied by at least one ACUC Divemaster or similar, in all dives. It is also possible that some dive sites have limitations for this type of certification. You can see the ACUC standards, the course content and the requirements for this course in this PDF document.

THE OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE
This course is designed for those who wish to gain the knowledge and skills to dive safely and unsupervised to the maximum depth allowed for this level of recreational diving (see depth note in standards document below). Being certified as “Open Water Diver ACUC” also allows you to take more advanced and specialty courses and does not have the limitations of the “ACUC Scuba Diver” certification. OTHER ACUC COURSES FOR NON-DIVERS
ACUC also offers other specialty courses for non-divers, among these courses are:
- First Aid Provider (DER)
- Emergency Oxygenation Provider (O2ER)
- Surface Controller
- Diving Equipment Maintenance
- Nitrox Mixer
ACUC also offers a full range of snorkelling courses, from basic to instructor.
